Diploma of Science

The Diploma of Science is designed to empower you to apply scientific thinking and analysis to important issues impacting the world today. Your work as a scientist has the potential to change the future and help solve some of the challenges humanity faces.

We offer two pathways, Life Sciences and Physical Sciences, both of which guarantee entry to 2nd year study at UTS. You will experience practical lab work, small team projects and have the benefit of using world-class facilities including the UTS Science Super Lab and Anatomy facility.

 

Leading to: Bachelor of Marine Biology and Climate Change

This course is designed for individuals passionate about marine biology and climate change, aiming to shape the future of marine ecosystems. Choose this course to become part of Australia's Blue Economy, gaining expertise in marine biology with a focus on climate change impacts.

What sets this course apart is its unique hands-on approach, combining theory with practical lab and Fieldwork trips to diverse marine environments, both in the Sydney region and the Great Barrier Reef, and the option to study abroad will provide you with real-world experience. You will gain knowledge in marine biology fundamentals, such as coral reefs and fish biology, and learn to use advanced technologies to study ecological interactions and climate change effects.

You will acquire a comprehensive skill set, including technical abilities and workplace competencies, through core subjects and a professional stream offering electives in policy, law, tourism, and business.

    Scholarships For international students

    This scholarship is available to high performing UTS Foundation Studies or Pre-Master’s Program students enrolling in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework programs respectively at UTS in Sydney in 2025 or 2026.
    UTS College and our partner MEDIBANK International are delighted to reward the top two full-time international students undertaking UTS College courses, who hold MEDIBANK International comprehensive Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) that was requested through UTS College.
    This scholarship is available to international students from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka completing any UTS College academic program and who enrol in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at UTS in Sydney in 2025 or 2026.
    The Pathway Scholarship to UTS supports high-achieving international students who are currently studying a UTS College diploma and wish to complete their undergraduate study at UTS.
