Program Overview

Train for a career in a growing field of Applied Behaviour Analysis. This specialized program will train you to work in a variety of fields with children, youth and/or adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder or other Developmental/Intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injury and/or mental health within the community, clinical setting, schools, residential placements and hospitals

Students will study a branch of psychology called Applied Behaviour Analysis- the science of assessing, analyzing and changing human behaviour.  Students will learn about the theory and clinical applications and technique of behaviour analysis and modification through an applied learning style and placement.

Graduates are qualified to work in a number of settings working with individuals or groups with mental health issues, autism or other developmental disabilities, to help them build new skills, or reduce problem behaviour and prevent crisis situations.

What You Learn (3 year)
Students will learn applications related to research in the field of ABA, and will be able to write and examine a research topic of interest through an individual research study. Students will complete a second placement in a clinical setting and will gain knowledge while working with special areas of focus, such as forensics, mental health, hospital settings, as well as high-risk behaviours. Students will also examine group behavioural therapy.

Entrance Awards

Since 1972, Canadore College has been awarding scholarships to deserving students. Last year, Canadore College awarded 144 scholarships. Scholarships are awarded based on a combination of academic excellence, attendance, and overall contribution to the classroom.

Program Incentives (Scholarship)

Canadore College has announced scholarships for the following programs. This is in addition to the 2500 CAD Entrance Level Award/Scholarship, which will be mentioned on the offer letter. The program incentive will be applied in full to the student's account in the 2nd semester. The entrance award will be applied after the 10-day count of each semester (1250 + 1250).
