International Year Two in Business Management and Finance

If you’re looking to study a business or finance degree at a top-ranking UK university, the International Year Two offers a fast-track route to your graduation. You will begin your studies in the second year of your degree, allowing you to graduate in just three years. Your journey begins by spending three-term at the International Study Centre, which will help you to gain the skills to study the final two years of your degree at the University.

Leading to:- Business Management and Information Systems MA

Business Management and Information Systems at Aberdeen brings together a solid grounding in business, people and organisations with in depth study of how organisations of all sizes and in all sectors use information systems and technology as vital tools for business success. This excellent combination of subjects, with invaluable input from industry and emphasis on teamwork, has a brilliant track record in securing employment for our graduates with major blue-chip companies.

In Business Management you will gain a wide perspective and thorough grounding in all areas of business, including skills in accountancy and statistics. Your knowledge will develop in the dynamic, international environment of our Business School of 45 nationalities, in small classes, taught by leaders in the fields of business practice and theory, corporate finance, and organisational change, and supported by dedicated careers advisers.

Information Systems uses the strength of our Computing Science experts, to add hands-on skills in computing to management and accounting classes. In your third year you will tackle a year-long software engineering project, working as part of a team, to develop a major software system from initial analysis to final delivery, and emphasising teamwork as strongly as technical skills. In your final year you will tackle an individual project, on a real-life scenario which may involve a local company.

Graduates of this subject combination have taken up posts in sectors as diverse as banking, pharmaceuticals and consultancy. Recent employers include IBM, BP, ConocoPhillips, Wipro, Hydro Electric, Scottish & Newcastle Breweries, British Telecom, the National Health Service and local councils.

Undergraduate Pathway Students:

The University of Aberdeen is offering progression scholarships to students who achieve a grade B (equivalent to at least 68%) in their . This scholarship will be available up to the value of £2,500 each year of your undergraduate degree, following your transition to the University.
The scholarship is available to self-funded students at the International Study Centre, on any undergraduate pathway except for those progression to MBChB Medicine. You can find out more about our here.

Postgraduate Pathway Students:

Postgraduate students who achieve the equivalent to at least 68% in their chosen are also eligible for an academic scholarship to the University. A scholarship up to the value of £2,000 is available to students following progression from the International Study Centre.
