Pre-Masters Programme in Engineering and Sciences
Pre-Masters Programme in Engineering and Sciences, this two-term pathway will prepare you for your chosen postgraduate degree at the Faculty of Engineering or Faculty of Science.

You’ll study useful skills for your Masters degree, such as research skills and communication, as well as an optional route module related to your progression goals. Our Academic English Skills module ensures your language ability is suited to postgraduate study at a UK university.

Once you have completed the Pre-Masters Programme in Engineering and Sciences, and subject to satisfying the progression criteria, you can proceed to your postgraduate degree at the University.

Leading to: Advanced Construction Technology & Building Information Management MSc
The need for advanced technologies has become necessary to accomplish sustainable engineering projects, especially for the construction industry. Various Advanced Construction Technologies (ACT) have emerged over the last decades. With the development of Building Information Modelling, the future of construction will be transformed into a more digital industry.

Various Advanced Construction Technologies are now BIM compliant across stages such as:

  • preparation of the client brief
  • conceptual and detailed design
  • construction and operational

These developments have provided technical and management support to solve complex and multidisciplinary problems for all project stakeholders.

There's a unique opportunity for the next generation of graduates to become highly-skilled in this field and gain further advantages in a highly competitive job market. The construction industry stakeholders are in need of high-calibre and highly-competitive candidates with knowledge and skills in construction disciplines, Advanced Construction Technologies and Building Information Modelling.

Advanced Construction Technologies and Building Information Management is one of the pathways offered within our Sustainable Engineering programme.

  • develop sought-after understanding of sustainable approaches and practices
  • a multidisciplinary course that aims to develop the knowledge, practical, and personal skills of graduates to work in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction (AEC) industry and to develop further research skills related to AEC fields

    If you are a self-funded student, you could be eligible for a combined scholarship from the University of Strathclyde International Study Centre and the University for your pathway programme as well as your undergraduate or postgraduate study.

    How do I get a Scholarship?
    International Study Centre scholarships are available for the , and . These scholarships are awarded on a first come, first served basis and are subject to availability. You must request the scholarship when applying for your pathway programme .

    Once you progress from the International Study Centre, the University of Strathclyde then awards scholarships each academic year upon achieving 60%.
