As a graduate of the Protection, Security and Investigation (Private Security) program, your critical thinking, research and interviewing skills will serve you well in effectively responding to potential threats to organizations and private citizens.

Program Highlights:

  • Curriculum is taught by former police officers with extensive investigative experience.
  • Gain practical, in-field experience via volunteer opportunities with local service agencies.
  • Hands-on experiential learning takes place in the Justice Studies Simulation Lab.
  • Students who successfully complete first year and the First Aid course are eligible to write the Ontario Security Guard licensing exam.
  • Graduates or students enrolled in their last level of of Niagara College's PSI (Private Security) program can gain a Police Foundations OR Community and Justice Services (Correctional Worker) diploma with 8 additional months of study, based on available space and admission requirements. We are excited to introduce the Niagara College Trailblazer Bursary, a new limited time offer to support international students on their journey to Niagara College! 


Bursary Details:

  • Amount: $1,500 
  • Effective: March 19, 2025.  
  • Who is eligible? New international students from India and Nepal starting their first full-time postsecondary program in Fall 2025 or Winter 2026. 
  • Study Permit Requirement: Students must apply for their study permit before June 10, 2025, and email proof of submission to . 
  • No Application Needed: The bursary will be automatically applied to eligible students. 
  • One-Time Award: This bursary can only be received once during a student’s time at Niagara College.

  • The bursary is automatically applied to the student's account after Day 10 of the term start.
